Born in then West-Berlin and raised in Basel (Switzerland), Shintaro Miyazaki is a media studies scholar researching in research fields such as the history of computation, critical media studies, software studies and computational practices, specifically concerning aspects of commoning, modeling and algorhythmics. He is based in Berlin and working as a (Junior)-Professor in "Digital Media and Computation" (with tenure track) at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of Musicology and Media Studies, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
